About

NMH Metalworks is an art based metalwork business operating in Melbourne since 1990. NMH produces bespoke, handmade furniture, architectural ironwork and artworks, public and private.
NMH is predominantly blacksmithing oriented, focusing on traditional forging and joinery techniques in combination with a contemporary approach. We also take on a wide range of steelwork including light structural and general fabrication. Additionally NMH have long experience with non ferrous metals such as copper and bronze.  Works are generally undertaken on a commissioning system where clients approach NMH with a concept or desired outcome and a consultation meeting is arranged. Consultation then progresses to a quotation and negotiation process where desired outcomes are achieved within allocated budgets.

TRADING TERMS
Our trading terms for commissioned works require the client to fully fund the project throughout.
This occurs through staged payments beginning with a deposit to cover material and set up costs. Progress payments are variable depending on budget and are negotiable prior to commencement. Commonly, works with budgets of up to $10 000 require a deposit of 40%, a progress payment of 40% and a final payment of 20%. Final payments are required on or prior to delivery and works remain the property of NMH until paid for in full.

Works with budgets in excess of $10 000 involve a negotiated series of progress payments to ensure continuity in the production process.

Inspection of works in progress are welcome and encouraged prior to progress and final payments.

VARIATIONS
Alterations to the initial agreed outcome can result in additional time and cost to NMH. Those costs are passed on to the client.
